Very well done and believable as the authors themselves have experienced the pain of the loss of a loved one. This is a very good book discussing how to deal with a sudden loss. It has chapters covering many instances of death and what to expect during the grieving and healing process. This book offers empathy, guideposts, practical advice and additional resources for those who have just suffered the sudden loss of a loved one. Good for trying to figure out how to care for yourself, as well as your grieving, loved one. “I Wasn’t Ready to Say Goodbye” breaks down the different kinds of grief and offers ways to cope with each in an easy-to-read format. This book is honest, tells it like it is, and addresses multiple circumstances, such as sudden illness, accidents, soldiers, suicide and more. Additionally, it acknowledges differing relationships to the lost loved one: What children may experience, or siblings, or parents, or even friends. Toward the back are multiple suggestions for how to cope and additional resources (written and groups) to help you through the process.

This is a well-written guidebook to carry anyone through the experience of losing a close loved one suddenly. This is a must-read for anyone who has lost someone close in a sudden way or just sooner than expected. Best book for those who have lost children, spouses or siblings from accidents, crime or suicide. It also provides a list of other resources and support for those that are grieving. Of particular interest in the book are suggestions for coping and learning to get through day to day life and difficult meaningful days such as birthdays, special anniversaries, weddings, holidays, etc. God bless all who have to go through grief from death. You learn how to cope, but you never forget it.
