This book to both young and old, and to those who do and do not have a great science background. The absurd questions in the book are all answered in a very easy to understand and sensible manner. Even for those who are very familiar with many of the scientific concepts that are explained in the book, will find themselves surprised or at least brought to a road of thought they may have never gone down before. The illustrations are also great and funny, there is a lot of good humor in the book. There are also quite a few nods to things such as the Lord of the Rings, the Terminator, and Star Wars in order to shed some light on some of the answers to What if?

Overall this is a humorous scientific read that provides scientific answers to bizarre questions. It reminds at times of the Mythbusters TV series in that nearly every scene is taken to the point of giant explosions or mass destruction. We would definitely recommend to fans of the Mythbusters TV series, fans of xkcd, and fans of snarky science humor.
