The “Secret Intentions” is a unique take on friends, by way of enemies, to lovers romance. Crystal Faye is the author of this book. It is an outstanding and enjoyable story. The story-line is well-developed, well written, and relatable. It is drama-filled, funny, and witty and a fun fast pace second chance romance with intriguing characters. Stella June Yates left the small town of Temple as soon as she could after graduation. She needed to get away from the bad memories and feeling of emptiness she had back there. Ty Huxley was her high school sweetheart, but their relationship ended badly.
He didn’t want to leave Temple and was crushed when Stella was accepted into Miami Dade University. Now she’s interning at the law offices of Page, Patel and Hawkins with hopes of becoming a lawyer. Her boss, James Page, is a certified bully and yells at his staff to get ready for the wealthy client who’s coming to decide if PPH is the firm that he wants to represent him. Ty has made a fortune in real estate in California but now wants to relocate to Miami and hire the best law firm to manage his money. He spots someone across the room that looks familiar as he listens to the presentation, but he doesn’t know anybody named June. He doesn’t know that Stella has started to use her middle name in her new life. He knows who she is and has mixed memories of her.
This is the girl that he spent so much time with, but he can’t remember her every being happy. He wants to see if they could make a go of it if they started all over again. After June realized that she couldn’t deny knowing him anymore, she decided that she would give him a chance. But her attitude didn’t change. She is not a very sympathetic character because every time something goes wrong, she blames others for it. When she and Ty are caught in a compromising situation in her office, she’s called into her boss’s office and immediately let go. She storms over to Ty’s home and screams, such a childish reaction, unable to take any responsibility. They do get their HEA, but Ty worked much harder to get there. For her part, Stella does become a more likeable person, even though she’s still a character you love to hate. In short, this storyline is well-conceived and well-written and the characters are definitely believable.
